Tag 7477 - Little John
Meet Little John, Tag 7477. At only 5 years old, this little man ended up in the kill lot. His back feet were so overgrown that it made walking difficult. He was struggling with his weight and we were very afraid that his coffin bones had rotated.
After a visit from both our vet and farrier - complete with x-rays and a start to a long process of trims — we found out the best news — no rotation in his coffin bone and no issues with ligaments. Little John is expected to make a full recovery!!!
This little boy has absolutely stolen my heart. When he first came to our farm, he would ignore and walk away from me. Now he comes running to me!! He didn’t know what a treat was or how to take it from my hand. Little John is currently receiving the farrier work that he needs and little by little we are seeing improvements.
He adores the kids and is a saint when they are around. He enjoys brushes and pets and occasional treats (the sugar free kind) haha!
Little John is home — his forever home.
UPDATE ~ Just look at the difference in his hooves. Our farrier has worked so hard to help reshape Little Johns hooves and help him to be able to walk correctly again. We have some serious cases of the zoomies happening in the mini pasture (and im NOT complaining).
